"This is an easy-to-read book suited to anyone with an interest in the subject, but has full scholarly notes to primary sources. Watchers were a class of angel who came to earth and taught weapons, spell potions, root cuttings, astrology, astronomy and alchemies to the humans living on earth. Some of the Watchers slept with human women. For this they were thrown into Tartarus. Nephilim were the progeny of the Watchers and the human women. Greek mythology speaks of gigantes being thrown into Tartarus. Gigantes is the word which the Septuagint (the ancient Greek translation of the Hebrew Bible dated to the 3rd to 2nd centuries BCE) uses to translate the Hebrew word "Nephilim," and is translated into English as "Giants." Idioms such as the mistranslation "sons of God," which have rightly confused those who have no knowledge of ancient languages, are explained fully. The book avoids theological pontification and ramblings, and adheres instead to actual evidence. Dr A. Nyland is an ancient language scholar and historian who served as Faculty at the University of New England, Australia. Dr Nyland is also the translator of "The Book of Jubilees," "The Complete Books of Enoch," "The Source New Testament with Extensive Notes on Greek Word Meaning," the ancient Hittite horse training text the "Kikkuli Text," and "The Psalms: Translation with Notes" and is the author of "A Devil of a Job to Find Satan in the Bible" among other books."--… (altro)
