I cannot handle this book right now. After reading this I felt like crying, and not in a good way. The more I think about the more I hate it. I have no idea how in the world it was published. In all honesty, it was horrible. The only reason I didn't DNF it was because I was hoping it would get better. As a lover of the first two books I was extremely disappointed with the content of this novel, especially the end. I'm not sure whether I'm more upset that this wasn't the stunning conclusion that I hoped for or more angry about the weak plot. I would love to recommend this trilogy to my friends, but I'm not sure this third book is worth it. ( )

I loved this series, but the ending SUCKED. I just read that there will be an epilogue in Dec. Hopefully it's good and I can change my rating. ( )

I have loved this series, and I find with the last installment wishing that there were a few more chapters... Like at the end of a movie you are really enjoying the feeling that they ran out of time or money...
I would love if Ms Carey would add a bit more to the end before Rise comes out. Still a good story.
I can wish can't I? ( )

Points in favor of this book: it was a really quick read. not including sleeping or eating, I read it in abot six hours.

Pints NOT in favor of this book: it was really, really... lame. Especially for being titles RISE... it kinda fell flat.

allthough, end of last book, Eve and Calebin the hangar, who made an offhand comment about how sucky it would be (for Charles, especially) if she got pregnant? I did! And then, whaddya know? It turns out that night in the hangar actually DID get her pregnant!
Also, just watch that baby be a boy. JUST WATCH

Anyway, this book, I mean, it was a'ight. I wasn't really a BIG fan of the series. I mean, after reading the first book I put the next two on hold at the library and obviously read them. But still...
I do think the first couple of books were better than this one.

WHAT KIND OF ENDING WAS THAT?

the ending had absolutely no kind of resolution. I mean, Caleb was not in this book. AT ALL. I know, I know, he 'died' at the end of book 2, but come on, who seriously bought that? And then I read some reviews and intentionally spoiled myself tat he was alive, which you might be doing as well. HE IS ALIVE. HE IS NOT PRESENT IN THIS BOOK, HOWEVER. Really disappointed in the lack of resolution there.

THis book sort of felt like there was no plot. I mean, the first quarter when they're plotting to kill her father I liked; if the author had made that be a larger element in the story, it would've been good. Political intrigue and takeovers and discord. if the author had stayed there, where all that was happening, this book probably would've been at least five times betterthan it was. instead, just when stuff was getting good there, the author took our main characters and sent them on a journey simmilar to that which they went on in book 1. Except LESS STUFF happened in that journey the second time around. And then, as soon as they got there, our MC turned right around and went back to the city and when she go there, the fun stuff was pretty much ending.

Also, was I supposed to feel sorry about what happened with Pip? I had to read that section twice because the first time, I didn't understand what actually happened. Then, the second time I read it, I was like: "Oh. She died." not caring.

Anyway, major disappointment. The author, I believe made some bad choices concerning the plot and the chaacters in this book. ( )

What!? I loved the way Eve developed as a character and the basic storyline, bur was left wondering a few things. Too many holes for me in the last book to give it more than 3 stars. (Spoiler alert). Why didn't anyone reason out that if Eve killed her father when Moss was still alive that power cold just shift to her? She could have mad the necessary changes. What happens to Charles at the end of the book? And Clara's mom? Why didn't Caleb try to get a message to Eve? You'd think he wold find a way. ( )
