The band members each get their own rhyming jingle that corresponds to their specific instruments as they get into the taxi. The song grows progressively longer as more band mates appear. Finally, they arrive at the show, but something is not quite right-- until Dan joins the band as the lead singer. Most illustrations cover a whole spread, and these sweeping yet detailed oil paint pictures combined with the repetitive "Climb inside while you still can/ with Dan,/ Beep! Beep!/ the Taxi Man" make this an excellent pick for reading aloud and storytime.
