When an American heiress and a French chocolatier butt heads, the business of chocolate is about to become a labor of love in this romantic comedy.

Paris

Breathtakingly beautiful, the City of Light seduces the senses, its cobbled streets thrumming with possibility. For American Cade Corey, it's a dream come true, if only she can get one infuriating French chocolatier to sign on the dotted line . . .

Chocolate

Melting, yielding yet firm, exotic, its secrets are intimately known to Sylvain Marquis. But turn them over to a brash American waving a fistful of dollars? Jamais. Not unless there's something much more delectable on the table . . .

Stolen Pleasure

Whether confections taken from a locked shop or kisses in the dark, is there anything sweeter?

Praise for The Chocolate Thief

"A delectable summer bonbon . . . The Chocolate Thief is for days when you lust not for wisdom, but for a bar of chocolateâ??at any priceâ??and a hero who understands what is truly important: 'Every dream I have has you in my apartment, has you in my laboratoire, has you with my babies . . . Every chocolate I've made since I met you, I've made for you.'" â??Eloisa James, NPR.org

"It's like when you find that amazing piece of chocolateâ??you take a bite, and it sits on your tongue and melts into a pool of liquid heaven: Florand has managed to capture that emotional experience and put it into the pages of her novel." â??RT Book Reviews

"[A] comfortable beach read . . . A good, fun read." â??Publishe

meh
an adult romance novel about chocolate that makes you sick of chocolate
never thought that could happen

one good smut scene, had it been shorter I would've been tempted to give it 2 stars

maybe it's a bad time to read escapist fiction about the 1%
but then again
when is it a good time to fantasize about jeff bezo's, paris hilton's etc sex lives? ( )

It was a cute, fast read. While I did in general like it, it was just kind of 'meh' for me. I liked the idea of it, but not the execution. ( )

More like a 2.5 tb, but OMG this book was charming as hell! It was just the sort of thing I wanted to read right now.
The reason I wouldn't give it more stars is because I wasn't crazy about the writing style (If I had to read someone was "lean" one more time ISTG...), and the guy bored me a little with his whole thing about how women were sooo complicated and manipulative and he used to be such a Nice Guy when he was a teenager. You learnt how to use chocolate to get into women's pants, dude! Give me a break.

I did love how the clash between American and French culture for the characters in the story just ended up reinforcing the idea that French people are pretty much the Americans of Europe lmao. The snobbery wars were pretty amusing.

All in all I would totally recommend it if you wanna read a light book to put you in a good mood, particularly for this time of year! ( )

This was one of the cutest contemporary romances I've read in a long time. I couldn't put it down. ( )
