This book is about animals getting ready to go to bed.For each animal it starts by telling the animals they need to stop doing what they usually do during the day. The book then asks the animals to close their eyes and go to sleep. The very last page is the book asking a child to close his eyes and go to sleep. This book could be considered contemporary realistic because a person could tell all the animals to go to sleep if they lived on a farm although it is not likely they would. This is a great bed time story for a young child. This author is also the author of Goodnight moon. The illustrations are amazing in this book. All of the animals in this book make for a great night time story. Read this book to any child for a great bedtime story! ( )
