This book was very cool because it was separated into sections, i.e. the first section were all poems about rabbits, etc. Within each section multiple poets wrote their own poems involving the subject of that section. It was awesome to see how different each poem could be even though they were about the exact same thing. ( )

This book is a collection of poems from an English teacher, who would say a word and then her students would write a poem about it. The first set of poems is about rabbits. The second set of poems is about ring, drum, and blanket. The third set of poems id about hole, friend, candle, ocean, snake, bucket or scarecrow. I could use the same idea and have the class write poems. ( )

Livingston starts the book off with an introduction informing the reader about a word game that encourages children to read and write poetry in a fun way. There are 43 poems following the introduction that explain the game's steps- one word, three words, and six words. The poems are very diverse in its theme, setting, tone, and subject matter. There are also different poetry forms, rhyming schemes, and set up of the stanzas. I would use this in my classroom for poetry lessons and for creative writing lesson. ( )
