I am so glad I kept reading this series. It gets better and better with every book!
I did find a couple of text/editing errors, but not many and none of them hindered the flow and enjoyment of reading this story. ( )

This was my least favorite of the series. I just never got behind the heroine. For example she'd only been being a vigilante for 4 months but she was so good at self defense and shooting etc.? I don't believe it. Plus her whole idea was TSTL. Her actions were not well thought out at all and thus she was a bigger ninny than most of the rock chicks. ( )

As usual, arrived late to this series so I know who ended up with whom. I also had some idea who the Rock Chicks and the Badass Nightingale men were but....nothing could have prepared me for the awesomeness that is Jules, "The Law".

Social worker by day, drug dealer's PITA at night. Some of her antics were a little out there but it succeeded in her quest to disrupt business for these dealers. She found "Park", one of her favorite runaways that she had been making strides with, in an alley OD'ed. Fueled her desire to avenge him and make sure no other of her kids got mixed up using or selling drugs.

Vance Crow, Nightingale's #1 Tracker and just one of many badass men who when they see the one they have no issues getting the woman they want. Vance isn't sure what to do with Jules. On the one hand he does admire her for caring so much for her kids and taking on the dealers. On the other, she's taking on the dealer's with mace, smoke bombs, and cling wrap. You have to read it to believe it.

She draws a little too much attention to herself so Vance names himself her new partner and protector. She trains with Luke...I know, badass of a badass Luke...and does ridealongs with him so that she can learn a different way to handle her business. She also gets training from the guys at the guns shop. Zip, Heavy and Frank semi-approve of what she is doing and want to make sure she can handle firearms and some self-defense tactics.

I love KA's leading ladies for they aren't shrinking violets by any stretch of the imagination but Jules....Jules takes it to a whole other level. When I grow up I want to be her. That's not to say she doesn't get her share of bumps, lumps and setbacks but damn, her strength of conviction, loyalty and love...she is the shit! Although when she gets shot, twice, while trying to save Roam I lost it. NO...she needs a HEA and Vance needs her. When she whispered "Home" in his ear before she went into the ambulance, talk about the mother of all ugly cries. Her Auntie Reba told her Home is not a specific place but wherever the people you love are.

Ah, so much to love about this book. Saying right now, this is going to be tough to beat as my favorite of the series. Others may try and I will enjoy each and every one of them but this one, this is the one I may re-read several times just for the fun of it. ( )

Jules and Vance ahh.

Jules comes across as a strong woman but we see she has so many insecurities, Vance has so much patience with her and is so sweet.

I love this series. That being said, this was not my favorite despite having loved Vance for awhile. I appreciated his patience with Jules but I didn't like how things happened with Luke.

I did like the direction things were going with Shirleen and family though and I really liked the conclusion of this one more as it gave more insight into the future of this story instead of just stopping abruptly and moving on to the next story. I am really surprised that these OTT men haven't knocked up their women a couple times by now even with everything happening at breakneck speed. ( )
