This book is a must read, or you will miss something when you get to Apollyon. It's a vital key point into the book, that sets things for the future books. But once again, it was phenomenal, another one I could't put down. I love this series so much. I want more! ( )

Elixir is Aiden's point of view of the events that took place right after Alexandria awakened and connected to the First(Seth). I really liked it, I not only got to hear from Aiden's perspective but I got to see a different side of him. Aiden was still Aiden, sweet, caring, responsible and lets not forget bad-ass. What Aiden had to deal with, seeing Alex lost in her all consuming connection to Seth, something she feared and not being able to help her brought out a rage filled side to Aiden. He was completely on edge, and would snap at anyone who was not on Alex's side. I was most afraid for him when he would lose it on Apollo. But thankfully Apollo gave him a pass.

Elixir shows Aiden's struggle to help Alex block her connection to Seth, which was not easy since she didn't know she wanted to do just that. Aiden had to make a choice between two evils that Alex was always afraid of happening. Which is the lesser of the two or are both equally bad. Let Alex stay in her consuming connection to Seth or put her on the Elixir. The drink given to half's put into servitude. Or is there a third option, one that doesn't make him hate himself, but might be more difficult to achieve.

Elixir was a nice little in-between story leading up to Apollyon. Since that book will be from Alexandria's point of view I think I will be thinking of how Aiden is dealing with everything in that book. I will have a deeper understanding of how he copes with insurmountable stress, I already know how he feels about Alex. We also get to hear from other loved characters. Really nice POV.
