Soon, Freddy finds a bird that has fallen from its nest and he hides it from his parents for the weekend until Monday to bring in for Show and Tell. On Monday, the teacher begins to read a story but the bird begins to peep. The teacher believes it is the class bully who is making the noise so she puts him in time out. Feeling bad, Freddy tells the truth that it was his bird that made the noise. However, the teacher does not get mad but rather praises him for being honest and sticking up for the bully. Review: The main idea of this story is Freddy wanted to bring in something cool for his Show and Tell, so he finds a bird and brings it to share but it accidentally gets a classmate in trouble which makes Freddy tell the truth. I liked how this book was a chapter book but it included pictures as well in order to help the reader visualize the story. For example, the illustrations showcased the bird, so the reader got to see what the bird looked like. In addition, I thought the book was well written and could be easily related to young readers. I remember wanting to bring in something amazing for Show and Tell and never having anything really great, while my peers did. This story can attract and interest young readers because it deals with experiences that some kids may go through. This is a simple early chapter book about Freddy, a first grade boy, who wants something extremely cool for show and tell. He ends up finding a bird in his back yard and ends up learning a lesson about honesty and what it means to be a true friend. This is a very accurate realistic fiction book because it is actually what young children struggle with. Each of the characters are relatable and easily understood through out the entire book. The plot is about Freddy feeling bad about not having a good show and tell and then actually sticking up for his friend/class bully Max. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
