The author addresses the issue of responsibility when you have some powers and the danger of abuse. Wanting to do things for yourself and not to please others. Face your fears and not flinch at the idea of taking risks and moving forward. An honest and nice story but not transcendent. I was motivated after reading the synopsis on the idea of casting a spell for fun by a trio of witches on boys to make them fall in love. A spell that will not work on the hot guy, of course! But the result was less interesting than the one developed by my imagination. So, in the middle of my reading, I lost a little interest and I found the plot a too soft for my taste. Well written. There's humor, some nice replicas and a duo-Kristen Zach quite endearing. But all lacked a bit of magic and fighting for my taste. Even if the end is pretty well put together. Lucie http://newbooksonmyselves.blogspot.fr/2012/08/crushed-by-kc-blake.html As many of you already know Jennifer has already positively reviewed K.C. Blake’s Crushed on the blog site A Tale of Many Reviews and I have to say I am in total agreement with my colleagues assessment of this young adult novel. I found Crushed to be a smooth read with interesting characters and a fun and slightly devious plot. The Noah sisters are witches and every year they compete with one another in a test of their witchy powers. Crushed follows the sister’s latest competition which proves to be quite different than in years past. All three of the sisters are challenged in ways they never could have foreseen: personally, romantically, scholastically, and paranormally. Blake does an excellent job of fully developing each of the girls’ personalities. They are individuals each with their own strengths and weakness and this is something that will be appealing to a wide range of readers. Blake’s writing style is smooth, quick, and absolutely age appropriate. If you’re looking for a new witch series I would certainly recommend giving K.C. Blake’s Crushed a try as it is a fun start to what seems to be a very promising series. I really enjoyed this book cause of the mixture of witches and mean girls. I loved the idea of mean girls playing games and abusing their powers. The way thew gang up on the little sister and shut her down. This book lived up to my every expectation of it. I'm really excited to get into the next book! The reader's attention is brought to these three sisters messing with magic that they shouldn't be messing with. They have rules, timing, and certain boys that can play. I like that these sisters are sisterly but very mean. They all want to be on top but stand tall for each other. It's a little weird but I can understand. I like that the plot was filled with dark parts and mysterious ones. The love interest of the book plays out better than what I expected. There were many twist and surprises that I had not seen coming. I took delight in the taking of the boys unknowingly. And the things these girls made them do was funny and sometimes dangerous. I adored the way the love interest unfolded. Zach is a mysterious bad boy with some secrets up his selves as well. That made my mouth drop a little. Not to mention, he is HOT! If you want a great book of magic, popularity, and magic read this book. You will adore the bad boy Zach, see the envy of the sisters and learn that dark magic just creeps around the corner. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
"As if being a witch in high school isn't complicated enough, Kristen picks the wrong boy to Crush. Zack is tall, handsome, and a little scary. Her Crush spell isn't working on him like it has with the others. In fact, he is behaving the opposite of every other boy she's Crushed, hating her instead of adoring her. Something is definitely wrong. After someone attempts to kill her, Kristen realizes there is more at risk than a few hundred dollars. She may be betting with her life"-- Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

• Her nemesis, Gina, calls her out in front of everyone.
• Her sister bets her to “crush” Zach, one of the hottest/scariest boys in school, which leads to another rivalry unintended between her and her sister.
• Now she has to deal with a Zach, who isn’t acting like a “crushed guy” should and instead of falling for her, he seems to hate her even more. Except for those rare occasions when he’s charming her…
From that day on life as Kristen knows it will never be the same. But will it be all for the best or will things just keep getting worse?
Wowza goes the drama! Suspenseful from beginning to end, this novel keeps its readers on their toes. It’s about witch/wizard families and what they’ll do for one another. While this dynamic cast is quiet entertaining..."
