I enjoy retellings of common myths especially modernization. I would have liked to understand the seeing red better and a little more depth with character development especially grandma! Hopefully we see additional stories in the universe even if its not focused on John. Also more visibility on the fates since the furies got a lot of airtime throughout the earlier novels. 'If enough people go out of their way to help someone else, the spirit of kindness eventually breaks through the darkness, the way sunshine breaks through clouds after a storm and allows even more kind acts to follow. My hope has always been that some day kindness will prevail, and there won't be any Furies for us to fight.' When seventeen-year old Pierce Oliviera accepted the undying love of John Hayden, she knew that she'd have to live forever in the place she always dreaded the most; The Underworld. At the time, this sacrifice seemed worth it, but now Pierce's safety and happiness in The Underworld is threatened, after John broke a strict rule by reviving a dead soul. The Furies are enraged by John's rule breaking, and if the balance of life and death aren't restored, the Furies will wipe out The Underworld and everything in it. Not only that, but Pierce's home on earth, Isla Huesos, will be wiped out alongside it. Can Pierce cheat death once more, restore the balance to the world, and save the ones she loves? My thoughts This is the last book in the Abandon Trilogy by Meg Cabot. After finding the first book of this series in the library, I enjoyed it so much that I just had to read the next one. After reading the second book in the series, I waited a few months for the third book to be published, and luckily it was available in my library and my wait was over. I can safely say that this conclusion to the series didn't disappoint me at all. It's always been believed, in the previous books, that The Underworld is a sanctuary where the Furies can't reach Pierce and her friends, so when the The Underworld is in danger from the Furies, it makes for a great story, as suddenly, nowhere is safe. Pierce is once again incredibly brave, fighting against forces that she didn't even know existed a few months ago. However, Pierce is never alone, as she once again has the help of her loyal friends, as well as some new friends that she meets along the way. As the story progressed and everything became clear, I found it really hard to put this book down. I felt like I needed to know everything; the reasons behind the danger in The Underworld, the truth about Seth Rector's family and why John hates them so much, and of course the solution to the furies. Overall, this series has been amazing. I was surprised by the first book when I read it, as I'd only ever read The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot, and this series is so different in so many ways. This series is dark, exciting, and full of wonderful characters. I definitely recommend the whole series to anyone that loves stories involving Greek mythology. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

So Pierce is armed with a magic whip used by John's dad to whip him as a child. She's off to get more boats for the Underworld and also John's soul.
At one point a bunch of teens are mixing this together:
Kool-aid.
Vodka.
Whatever pills they find in the medicine closet.
I- WHAT?
I know it's a boomer stereotype but most medications are not going to get you high. Unless they found the fun painkillers almost none of that makes sense. And if it was going to get you high, it would be messed up by the alcohol. Booze is a downer. Downers and uppers don't go together. Most pills don't work dissolved. And many don't work one use, they have to be multiple pills over a week.
Also overdosing would happen.
She randomly kisses a bully and assumes he's Thanatos and... He is! Somehow Thanatos is just hanging out as a teenage bully. Wack.
This book is another train wreck.
1 star.
Absolute rubbish. ( )
