"A Year With Grandma Moses," follows the life of Grandma Moses through selected writings and paintings of her. Each page of the book tells about grandma Moses' actions and life during the time of the painting. A small snippet underneath the waiting also describes the painting and what time of the year it is. I thought the way this book was written was very interesting. However, i feel I learned more about Grandma Moses from the author's note than I learned from the book. "The Year with Grandma Moses" is like re-living Grandma Moses' childhood with her. The book itself is mostly descriptions of her life directly from her, but short lines and pictures help readers immerse themselves into her childhood. The book is almost an autobiography since the story flows mostly because of Grandma Moses' descriptions. This book is more of an experience than an informational text. Readers truly gain not only facts about what a year was like with Grandma Moses. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

It was different, which I appreciate; however, the setup was weird.
On the left hand pages, it was stories from Grandma Moses about her childhood. On the right, it was her paintings. Although I understand her memories are a basis for her paintings, I did not learn anything about her professional life as a painter. ( )
