Angel Tilson’s mother landed Angel in heavy debt and now Angel needs money fast. She decides to find a rich husband and sets her sights on Rafe McFarland. Not only is Rafe wealthy, but he is also the Earl of Pembroke. He has scars on the side of his face and he considers himself a monster. Angel offers him a marriage of convenience and surprisingly he accepts. And what follows is a very enjoyable romance between two very likable characters. Rafe made a great tortured hero and I liked his Scottish estate. Angel and Rafe had great chemistry and I liked how the sexual tension built up between them and that they waited to act on it, instead of jumping into bed immediately. All-in-all, it was a beautifully written, emotional and romantic read. ( )
