2.5 Stars. This story just "jumped right into it". A bunch of "established" heroes who we don't get any background on, thrown together to defend a village and get a message to the big city that a horde is on the way. It was like starting a D&D campaign at 7th level. All these heroes are badass, but I guess that's the only way they would have a chance at holding off the horde. Gets pretty dark at times, but I don't really feel a connection with any of the characters. Hoping it gets better. ( )

The formation of the Demon Knights is chronicled here as well as their first fight together.

Artistic and heavily detailed illustrations add depth to the almost mythic narrative and varied characters. The narrative while partially starting with Camelot mythology adds other lands to the mix to add flavor. Characters while flawed are compassionate, some seek redemption, and intriguing.

Overall, a fun read. ( )

I didn't really know that this didn't take place in current times. It centers on Etrigan too, whom I've seen in a few comics in my lifetime. I'm not a fan of him necessarily, but I knew darker elements would accompany his story, or at least I thought. This was a medieval knights and demons type comic, which I'm just not all that interested in. I find that time period to be extremely boring. ( )
