his was one of oddest books I read this year (or the last to be precise). This book passes in a world a lot different from ours... I found it hard to get into the story and characters. I must say I only finished the book because the book was short or else I would have give up. The only thing worth mention is the funny relation between the detective and his wife (the other detective) and the funny situations they get themselves into... even if they didn't make sence on my head. Maybe that's why this book is part of a series called Odd Jobs Inc. I won't try any more books on this series but I am willing to try reading the famous Vampirella novels he wrote. ( )

Nella trattoria di Mama Rosa, un tipico locale di Los Angeles, il detective privato Jake Pace è alle prese con sette androidi mafiosi e li liquida uno dopo l'altro. Ma ha trascurato un uomo basso e tarchiato che stava mangiando calamaretti con contorno di pastasciutta, e la sua negligenza rischia ora di costargli cara. Per fortuna la sua partner Hildy entra in questo preciso momento e in una frazione di secondo estrae il fulminatore dalla giarrettiera. "Mama mia!" fa appena in tempo a esclamare il tarchiato prima di abbattersi con la faccia nel piatto di calamaretti. Che cosa c'entra però tutto questo con il Dr. Adolph Hibbler, lo scienziato nazista che nel 1945 riuscì a fuggire da Berlino in fiamme? Lo sapremo a suo tempo. Per il momento non ci resta che seguire la trama: una delle trame più diaboliche mai escogitata da Ron Goulart, il fantascientista pazzo.
