An enchanting story that comes to life with the interactive flap inside...ingeniously beautiful and not at all expected. ( ) This book motivates children to let their imagination run wild. Yoshi began using his imagination and found that it could lead him to great things. Children need to know that they can be creative and use their imaginations to do great things. This book also shows the importance of unity. The village had to unite in order to survive the tsunami. The fan-shaped flip pages in the book keep children engaged and excited to turn the page. "The Magic Fan" offered beautiful pictures that seemingly followed the story. The overall theme/message was believe in your self, you have the power to perform "magic". This becomes apparent towards the end of the story when Yoshi loses the fan and still he was able to build a even better village. "Yoshi can see everything clearly, without the fan. "The magic, he had discovered, was his own". this is the last part of story, Keith Baker wittingly closes with a power message that students could understand and take with them as they close the dynamically illustrated book. Loved the art and the fan reveals another picture with each page. The storyline was great, a take on Dumbo and his magic feather. A skilled carpenter looks for inspiration in a magic fan. He forgets to look to himself and his village for inspiration. He regains his sense of purpose after disaster strikes his village and he loses the fan. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Despite the laughter of his fellow villagers, Yoshi uses his building skills to make a boat to catch the moon, a kite to reach the clouds, and a bridge that mimics the rainbow. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
