A disgraced reporter is about to commit suicide when his daughter is threatened to make him exhume his dead father's body and obtain an envelope buried with him. In the envelope is a key to finding the key artifacts which survived the destruction of the Jew's Second Temple, supposedly brought to the "New World" (specifically Jamaica) by a converso Jew named Christopher Columbus. I got fatigued after they explained this for the fifth or sixth time as I understood it the first time. The Magellan Billet plays a minor role in defeating the crazy zealot that wants the artifacts to precipitate a war between Jews and Muslims over the Temple of Mount. Loved it. Steve Berry is one of the better historical fiction writers today. I love the background info at the end of the book telling you what is fact and fiction. And even though this book stands on its own, I love that it still has a tie in to the Magellan Billet from the other books in the series. Loved it.
