In my opinion, this is a very informational book. The language in this children’s book is very descriptive. Throughout the book, they show all of the nine basic colors and describe twenty different shades for each. On the first page, the twenty different shades all explain something the color is related to. For example, a few of the yellow shades are called, “Lion Yellow, Squash Yellow, and School Bus Yellow. Next, I find that the illustrations represent the text well. For example, each page shows a noun of what the colors may represent to give children a better idea of the neutral color for that shade. The message of this book is to allow students to recognize colors and shade to be able to rate them from least to greatest or vise versa. ( )

A fun board book. My early reader likes to read all the color names and to match them with the images in back (where applicable). I'm just tickled by the idea of a Pantone book for kids, and I like that it shows such a wide range of colors. ( )

This book is wonderfully illustrated and shows the different shades and types of each color. It would be a good selection for young children learning colors.
