Definitely learned more about revenants and liked the development of the relationship between Vincent & Kate. Can't wait to read the third book. ( )

The story from Die For Me continues on in the second book in the trilogy. With the Numa leader dead, it seems the Revenant have a bit of unexpected quiet. For Vincent and Kate, this means trying to find a way to be together that doesn't destroy either one of them. But for the Revenant as a whole, the silence of the Numa is disconcerting. Jean-Baptiste, determined to get ahead of their enemies, brings in a pair of Revenant from the countryside to help, but are Violet and Arthur who they seem to be?

While Until I Die continues to be a very cheesy YA paranormal romance, I still find myself enjoying this series. It's light, quick to read, and I really enjoy the unexpected blips of dialogue. As a middle book, the plot lulls, but I've grown to expect that in trilogies and it doesn't really both me too much - instead, I find myself enjoying the ride and getting more into the world building. The characters are a bit flat, but I continue to enjoy the variety of relationships - siblings, friends, grandparents, lovers of all ages and relationship lengths, the works. I think Amy Plum writes the relationships well, and while the characters themselves may not impress, their candor is good. As far as the ending goes, while the villain of this one was totally predictable for me, the very ending came unexpected.

Four stars may seem a bit generous for a book with a mediocre plot and mediocre characters, but the Revenant series continues to be pure enjoyment for me. I like Amy Plum's writing and I like that I can devour the book without becoming too annoyed with its predictability. Ultimately, I'd say Until I Die and the rest of the Revenant series may not appeal to everyone, I'm looking forward to finishing it out. ( )

And now I remember why I loved these books so much.

GRRR! Cliffhangers, thou shalt be the death of me!
I am wounded. There is sword protruding from my chest, and Amy Plum put it there.
Vincent!
I’m still hoping for some conspiracy involving Kate’s parents being Revenant-related spies or something.
This book confirmed her Papy was in on the revenant conspiracy, but I still think there’s something about her parents.
I’m also still hoping for an explanation as to why Vincent fell in love with Kate upon first stalk.
Not that Kate’s sparkling personality isn’t enough to get someone to fall in love with her… it’s just there has to be some other reason. Even Edward had a reason for falling in love with Bella upon first sniff, and that was that her blood smelled exceptionally good.
I’m betting the reason here has something to do with her parents.
Violette is awesome and tons of fun, and if you saw what happened with her coming, raise your hand.
*raising hand*
Yeah, that’s kind of why I love her.
Something about little girls being evil overlords makes me think they’re adorable.
Ta.

grrr... need the next book… mumble, mumble… grrr… grumble…

Soooo, I just finished the book and I'm having mixed feelings! In some aspects I liked the first book better, but then again in other aspects I liked this book better! Don't mistake me, both boos are great and totally worth the read!! But something is nagging me about Kate...! I can't put my finger on exactly what so I have to put more thought into it! Otherwise I love the story and the scenery... Paris, HELLO??? Got to love it. And the fact that the places in the books are so vividly explained makes the book much better, since we have google earth! Indeed, I'm a total nerd when it comes to checking out places in books on google earth! All in all I really liked the book and it took about 10 pages for me to be into the story I read all night so now I'm going to get some sleep. And a book has to be good for me not to be able to take a break in reading it! SO, a great book, everyone should pick up Amy Plum's books and read em. AND I CANT WAIT UNTIL THE NEXT ONE! I have my suspicions and I've had them since Kate's conversation with Vincent about the Champion!! So, now we wait a year or so to get the answers we seek ;)

4.5 stars! ( )
