The illustrations in this story were beyond cute. It brings about a cute and girly vibe, which I think suits the story well of the main character Lottie Paris. In this story, Lottie goes about her day doing different things. She would play at the park, in her bedroom, be in time-out... it looks like a typical day for a young girl. One thing that stood out to me was how Papa Pete was the only parent introduced, and his face is never shown in the story. This story does show a father-daughter relationship, and maybe the reason why Papa Pete's face is never shown is because Lottie is the star of the story. Overall I think this is a cute, girly, and adventurous story for children. ( )

The book focuses in on Lottie and her day with her dad, but never quite shows his face. Great book for talking about families and different roles that parents can take. It is also a book with a black protagonist!
