Mic is the cop and jason is the robber and they meet when he's attempting to rob the house that she is watching for her uncle who turns out to be a mobster. Good story, a lot of good suspense, though the ending was slightly weak. While house-sitting for her Uncle Nicco, policewoman Micayla Lange catches Jason Davis in the act of stealing money from her uncle's locked safe. When they both find incriminating photos that implicate Nicco in the murder of a city councilman, Mick and Jason hurtle into a race for their lives (LT Desc.). This was an exciting, suspenseful novel through most of the story, but the ending fell flat. The suspense builds and builds and then everything is easily resolved in the last few pages. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

A female cop surprises a thief and his cohort in the mansion along the shores of Lake Erie (one of the Great Lakes, anyway) she is housesitting, and ends up going on the run with him. As they run, she falls for him. Together, they must escape her "Uncle Nico," who is a mobbed up big-time bad guy with a posse of goons. Uncle Nico is good friends with her father, and took a special interest in her after she and her sister saw their mother murdered when they were kids.
This story went on way too long. There were so many things that didn't add up - her cop father is best buds with the head of a criminal organization? A head of a criminal organization asks a cop to house sit for him? The cop takes off with a thief she never met because she saw a photograph, instead of trusting the man she considers family? They take off in a boat on the Great Lakes in the midst of a massive, blinding winter storm - and ice isn't a problem? They hike through the North Woods with pajama pants on, and don't suffer massive frostbite? They're on the run for their lives, supposedly, in horrible conditions, yet all the two characters notice about each other is tits & round asses & lean bodies.
I wish I had realized when I started that this was romantic suspense, with a heavy emphasis on romantic. At one point, I told the narrator that if she said the word "tits" one more time, I was going to scream. And I did.
