I read this book in a few hours. Which bring me on to one other thing I feel I need to complain about: The length. As I mentioned above (up there somewhere ^) I love Alderson's stories and if I'm completely go est, Iwantthemtolastloooooonger! Seriously, please please please write longer books ! Thanks! (: Over & Out, T xx Evie thinks she has problems, her boyfriend was in an accident and her best friend got killed, she lives in a small town and she works as a waitress. However she has a plan, move to New York, have a new life, leave all this after her. However Fate has a plan for her, she's the last purebred Hunter on earth, fated to fulfil a dangerous prophecy. Lucas Gray is a half-shadow warrior, half human and is one of the assassins out to get her. However this isn't going to work like he planned. It's an interesting story, well done and I'm curious what's going to happen next to the characters. www.booksforcompany.com In Short - A unique paranormal book - Sarah was able to make her own little ‘mark’ on the paranormal genre - Lots of great twists which will keep you gripped - Sarah is a very talented author who’s writing flows really well. In Long I will admit that I wasn’t really that excited about Fated, I was worrying that I wouldn’t be able to get into it due to not being able to get into paranormal books as easily lately. I was wrong! Sarah is such a great writer, she has that natural talent which makes the writing so effortless and flow really well. This meant that I quickly connected with all of the characters she introduced into the book, whether that meant me liking or hating them. The main character, Evie, was one that I started off having mixed feelings for, no sure whether I liked her or not but gradually I liked her more and more. Lucas, another main character, was like a mystery to me and I always love that! Especially with males when they give off an unknown vibe. The storyline was one which Sarah made her own. By that I mean it was a unique storyline which Sarah really made stand out amongst the other paranormal books I have read. I really loved getting to know about the place which Evie lives in and the world around her. I loved it even more that she was discovering things at the same time as I was; it was like going on a journey with her. There were so many twists in this book, one or two which I could see coming but the others seemed to come from nowhere and really kept me gripped. Final Thoughts Sarah has really created a unique paranormal book which will most definitely stand out from your normal paranormal books. The storyline will keep you gripped throughout with a few surprises throughout. I will definitely be looking out for more books by Sarah. I was lucky to win Fated through the You Give=We Give campaign, as well as Alderson’s debut novel [book:Hunting Lila|10188580] published in 2011 which has gained a lot of praise. Fated is a blend of urban fantasy and paranormal romance aimed at a young adult audience. Seventeen year old Evie Tremain dreams of moving to New York and escaping the reminders of her tragic losses. Her plan is ruined when she discovers she is the last pure blood Hunter of the hidden Unhuman races that threaten to overrun the Earth. Thrown into a life of danger, secrets and deception, Evie must to learn to fight to survive. Half Unhuman Shadow Warrior, Lucas, has sworn to avenge his parents murder and destroy the Hunters but for reasons he cannot explain he is compelled to protect Evie from his own allies, even at the cost of his own life. For Evie and Lucas to survive, the pair must find a way to defeat their enemies and fulfill the prophecy of the ‘White Light’. There is plenty of action in Alderson’s first installment of the Fated series. She introduces her characters, mythology and world with a pitched battle between a shocked Evie and a group of nightmarish creatures including a green skinned Mixen, blood crazed Thirster and Scorpio Demon. The Brotherhood are members of a hidden race known as Unhuman by the Hunters that are the guardians of the human realm. When Evie escapes their attack her history is revealed to her by Victor who intends to train her to join the fight for good against evil. Both Evie’s training and continued skirmishes between the Hunters and Unhuman provide action through out the novel culminating in a battle finale that not everyone survives. The world Anderson is building is interesting – a mix of accepted and original mythology with a touch of SciFi about it. The author gives just enough detail without bogging down the story with set up. The title not only relates to Evie’s prophesied destiny but also the nature of the romance that develops between Evie and Lucas. I am not really a fan of insta-love, particularly when the couple have good reasons to be enemies. What is lacking for me here, is a solid reason for the inexplicable devotion between the two teens, attraction based on the physical I can buy but being willing to die for each other within days or even weeks of meeting, not so much. Perhaps there is one hiding in the parts of the prophecy that have been lost (presumably to be found further on in the series) but I would have preferred that Anderson have allowed the relationship to simmer into the next book than force the immediate love connection when Lucas’s desire to end the war would have been believable as enough motivation. I thought the writing was of a high standard, and the story fast paced and exciting. Fated is an entertaining novel with a mix of action and romance that is sure to appeal to young adult readers. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

From the author of Hunting Lila, The Sound, and Out of Control comes the first novel in a spooky paranormal trilogy. What happens when you discover you aren't who you thought you were? When you find out the person you love is the person who must betray you? If fate is already determined--can you fight it? Lucas Gray is half Shadow Warrior, half human, and a member of the Brotherhood--a group of assassins tasked with killing the last purebred Hunter on Earth before she can fulfill a dangerous prophecy. The Hunter's name is Evie Tremain. Evie Tremain is a seventeen-year-old waitress who has just discovered she is the last in a long line of demon slayers--and an unwilling participant in a war between Hunters and unhumans that has raged for the last thousand years. She knows she can't run. They'll find her wherever she goes. So she decides she must learn to stand and fight. But when Lucas is sent to spy on her, their fates become inextricably linked. The war that has raged on for one thousand years is about to reach a devastating and inevitable conclusion--and either one or both of them will die before the war draws to a close. If your life became bound to another's, what would it take to sever it? Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
