I didn't really like how it was written in the third person, and how the author would refer to herself as 'her' rather than 'I' or 'me' - that took some getting used to. Otherwise it was good and I learnt a lot about a subject I didn't know a lot about. ( ) To begin with I didn't like this book much. The author is writing a personal family story, but in the third person, which I found hard to get used to. Her style is also very short and sharp and does not allow for many descriptive passages. However when I became accustomed to this style I quite liked the story and realised that she was deliberately distancing herself in order to tell her father's story. His deliberate attempts to disremember the past and her desire to know, eventually helped her to understand why her father was so strict and possessive. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
