If you're looking for more adventures from the familiar characters of the Dark Tower, reader beware. As this is less about them as an interesting use of framing in what is essentially a short story collection from Mid-World. Primary focus is on the framed titular story and secondarily the story that frames that one, giving us a yet unseen glimpse into Roland's youth. Highly enjoyable and a lighter note to follow my finishing of the The Dark Tower. While I enjoyed Tim and the other new characters, as well as a deeper glimpse of Mid-World, I still was left longing for more time spent with old companions. ( ) I was looking forward to spending some more time with Roland, Eddie, Susannah, and Jake. I was looking forward to getting to know Jaime DeCurry. I was less interested in the story-within-a-story that took up the larger part of this short book. There were some interesting details here and there fleshing out the larger story of Roland and the Dark Tower. For the most part there just doesn't seem to be enough here to justify a new novel in this series. I was looking forward to spending some more time with Roland, Eddie, Susannah, and Jake. "The worst thing about wishes is that sometimes they come true." Although this is technically a Dark Tower story it does not have much to do with the main characters or quest of the main series. Even though it takes place in the middle of the journey, it was a nice refreshing story to read after the completion of the series. It allowed for a light and pleasant remembrance of Roland's ka tet nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione

Sent by his father to investigate evidence of a murderous shape shifter, a "skin man," Roland Deschain takes charge of Bill Streeter, a brave but terrified boy who is the sole surviving witness to the beast's most recent slaughter. Roland, himself only a teenager, calms the boy by reciting a story from the Magic Tales of the Eld that his mother used to read to him at bedtime, "The Wind through the Keyhole." (The novel can be placed between Dark Tower IV and Dark Tower V.) Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |
