I think that if this audiobook had been narrated by Jonathan Cecil I might have given it 4*. While Simon Vance did a perfectly good narration, his voice didn't convey the zaniness of Wodehouse's plot. As for the book itself, while not the pinnacle of Wodehouse, this late novel in his œuvre (1964) recalled some of his earlier books (which is a good thing). Frozen Assets -Wodehouse Audio performance by Simon Vance 3 stars Another Wodehouse without Wooster. I have to be in a certain mood to appreciate the British silliness of the comedy. The typically ridiculous premise demands that the hapless Edmund Biffen Christopher refrain from being arrested until his 30th birthday has come and gone. If he can manage what is apparently a difficult task, he will inherit millions. Obviously the only way to keep him honest is to take away his trousers. There seemed to be an endless parade of male characters in boxer shorts. Mildly amusing, but not a Wodehouse best. March 2018 reread: No change in my opinion. HTML: The quintessential comedy master returns with another tale that will have you laughing out loud and yearning for more. For Edmund Biffen Christopher, life is about to be very goodâ??assuming he can stay out of trouble. If he can avoid being arrested until his thirtieth birthday, he will inherit his godfather's millions. The trouble is, Biff has a certain proclivity for getting into fisticuffs ... particularly with policemen. And he's already nearing thirty. Adding to his troubles is Lord Tilbury, who wants the fortune for himself. If Tilbury can make Biff fall foul of the law, his wish will come true. True to form, Wodehouse will see to it that everyone gets what's coming to them, one way or another. Non sono state trovate descrizioni di biblioteche |

The plot, like in most Wodehouse books, revolves around young men desiring two things: young women and big money. No matter how many times the the author follows this pattern, it remains a winning formula.
Good show, dash it. ( )
