There are some good ideas on how to rein in the sports madness in the US, particularly Paul Westphal's thoughts. There are also some god-awful ideas (pay college players? The list of reasons why that's a bad idea is endless). The bottom line is, well, the bottom line. As long as corporations/people continue to fill the ballparks and stadiums, and as long the the media keep showcasing all the sports egos 24/7 on radio and tv, there is no reason for sports owners to act any differently than they act now.
