This is a cute and funny story about Goat, who has been invited to his friend Pig's house for dinner. When Goat sees his friend Pig crying, Goat imagines all sorts of events that could have upset his friend and sets out to cheer his friend up. But when Goat finally reaches Pig's house, Goat receives quite a surprise. Beginner readers in kindergarten and first grade would like this picture book, and it is also a nice read-aloud book for preschool children. Little details like Goat's big glasses and Goat's flowers on the table at the end of the book make the book very visually interesting. That's What Friends Are For also has a meaningful message; it shows very young children what it means to be a kind and caring friend. I thought this book had a nice lesson. The goat friend sees his pig friend crying and processes all the possibilities for what could be wrong. Goat then prepares remedies to the problems such as bringing flowers for the pig's trampled flower garden or bringing a board game in case pig broke his leg. We find out at the end that pig is cutting onions for their dinner and goat helps him. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
