A Love Means... Story Raine Baumer is living the party life in Chicago, indulging in short relationships with little emotional commitment. But after he's severely injured in a gay bashing, close friend Geoff arrives to take him to the country to recuperate. There Geoff and his partner Eli treat him like part of the family, and Raine meets Jonah, Eli's brother, who is exploring life in the world outside his Amish community. Jonah and Raine's mutual attraction draws them together, but they may not have a chance to explore it. Jonah's father is making ultimatums, and the police believe that the attack on Raine may not have been as random as it initially appeared. Raine and Jonah will have to face what they fear most in order to have any chance at a life together.… (altro)

After being the victim of an attack that leaves him in pain and with mobility issues, Raine goes to the ranch owned by his friends Geoff and Eli to complete his recovery. While Raine is there, Eli's brother Jonah shows up to spend some time during his Rumspringa. Despite Raine's first impression of Jonah, he can't help finding himself drawn to him. But can Raine, an out gay man from the city, truly win over Jonah, a sheltered young man from an Amish community who is still learning about the outside world? And even if he can, is it worth it when Jonah is likely to just go back to his community at the end of the year and Raine is headed back to Chicago?

While I felt like the last two installments in this series had some rather stark similarities, this one seems a bit fresher. Granted, there is the theme returning from the first book as one of the main characters is coming from an Amish community and is faced with learning about the outside world and himself, as well as decisions about where he wants to end up in the end. But the characters here are very different, as are their circumstances. I also feel like this installment included a bit more bedroom scenes that previous books - the plot to sex ratio is heavier to the latter when compared to the early parts of the series.

Overall, Andrew Grey continues to add to the world he's created, slowly introducing more wonderful characters into the mix. ( )

Andrew Grey provides another enjoyable read in this series! I liked Raine in Love Means... No Shame (Farm, #1) by Andrew Grey, the first book of the Farm Series and I'm so glad his story is finally told! ( )

This addition had a little more menacing suspense mixed in that the previous ones. It highlighted though, just how extreme some will go to exercise their hatred. The MCs have an interesting road and some serious healing is needed as well. I liked how the ending wasn't some perfect fix, but rather a realistic compromise. I'm not marking that as a spoiler bc you can take what that means in a thousand different directions.

I loved this book as much as the previous volumes in this series. Raine and Jonah both have to face their fears. Even though they're very different people with backgrounds that would make you think they'll never fit, when they're together they're much stronger than when they're apart.

Raine is a great character. Even though he isn't sure that he's good enough for Jonah, things change for him as the story progresses. The bashing he's been through has already made him think, spending time at Geoff and Eli's farm gives him a glimpse into a different kind of life, and meeting Jonah makes him realize he may have missed something. It still takes him way too long to come around, as far as I'm concerned. I was ready to kick him awake when he left again.

Jonah is an amazing young man. Struggling with his identity, sexual orientation and purpose in life, in some ways you'd think his life would be easier when he finds out what happened to his elder brother, Eli. The point is, that even though he theoretically has Eli's 'example' to follow, that doesn't make his own decisions any easier. I think he mastered the situation brilliantly.

I definitely breathed a vast sigh of relief at the end! This was another highly emotional journey that I enjoyed a lot. ( )

Another winner in this series. What a fantastic novel. The author pulls you in from the start. Adding warmth, love, suspense and laughter to this story that introduces another memorable character to the "Family"
.
Raine Baumer, the best friend of Geoff, who we met in a previous book, is living the party life in Chicago, indulging in short relationships with little emotional commitment. But after he’s severely injured in a gay bashing, close friend Geoff arrives to take him to the country to recuperate. There Geoff and his partner Eli treat him like part of the family, and Raine meets Jonah, Eli’s brother, who is exploring life in the world outside his Amish community. Jonah and Raine’s mutual attraction draws them together, but they may not have a chance to explore it. Jonah’s father is making ultimatums, and the police believe that the attack on Raine may not have been as random as it initially appeared. Raine and Jonah will have to face what they fear most in order to have any chance at a life together.
I have fallen in love with everyone in this world that Andrew Grey has created.
It is a true testament to the author's talent that all of them that people his books seem so real.
I look forward to the next in the series and will want to read other titles by this author. ( )

To Lynn West, my editor and partner in these endeavors. I may conceive and write the stories, but she gets them perfected so they can be read and enjoyed. Without her, there would be no Andrew Grey story that was fit to print. Thank you for everything.
