I need to re-read this one sometimes. Lex decides to run for president after being hounded by images of how much the city loves Superman. The story and artwork are good but there is a little bit lacking. ( )

"Ugh, what an awful collection. Not the story itself is bad, but this collection is truly dreadful. It's out of order (Lex gets nominated, Lex announces his VP, Superman congratulates Lex on winning, some big giant monster attacks Metropolis, Lex wins, people talk about who they're going to vote for... wait, what?) and I think it might be missing chunks of story. There's some good art in here by Ed McGuinness, though, and the bits with the JLA are cute (though it looks like Superman is making out with Wonder Woman in one panel... huh?)."

A compilation of the "Superman" issues detailing the campaign and election of Lex Luthor as President of the USA. I haven't been keeping up, and some of the events and characters are unfamiliar to me. The main draw for me was Batman's reaction to Luthor's election, a more honest and visceral one than the anal-retentitively controlled Superman. I also was intrigued by Lana Lang's conversation with Superman regarding her husband Pete Ross' election as Luthor's vice-president. As is often the case, the most interesting thing about a Superman story is the other characters. ( )
