Let me first start by thanking Night of Pan Books for having published these poems. This booklet, about 20 pages, contains three poems by Crowley. They are very good. It was a joy to read them. Crowley's Poetry is not always my favorite, but these three poems ("Moon-Wane," "The Rock" & especially "To a New-born Child") are among his best. My only complaint would be that it appears that a couple of typos have slipped through. Perhaps I am not up on British English circa early 1900s, but "She hath made me mad. She hat kindled a cold fire upon the altar-stone" makes no sense to me (from "Moon-wane"). Also, from "To a New-born Child," the line "With lids cut of and fettered hands" seems like it should be "With lids cut off and fettered hands." Two mistakes in 20 pages seem a bit high to me, but they are easily corrected and the meaning still comes through. I hope that Night of Pan continues to publish rare Crowley material. Lord knows someone should. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
