I love the vocabulary building, and this precocious little girl. She wants to get her sister an awesome birthday present, but then sees a fan that she must have. To afford both, she opens a boutique and sells her old fashions. A fun birthday party is had by all later. A typical Fancy book, and a fun addition to the series. ( ) I love Fancy Nancy! My favorite feature that is shown in all of her books is the vocabulary growth. The main character Nancy always uses "fancy" words and explains the meaning of them. Nancy is also always discovering new things in life whether it is educational or behavioral. In this book she learns to sell her unused things to make money and in the end helps her little sister during her birthday. This book helps any young reader who loves to be fancy learn fancy words and skills while having fun. Nancy really wants a fan from the boutique she goes to. She knows her sisters birthday is coming up and she spent her money on her present. Nancy decided to maker a boutique and sell her stuff for the fan. After learning her sister wanted a necklace she had she didn't know what to do. This is a great book for siblings and teaches them the act of kindness like Nancy had when she gave her the necklace and the eye patch. Fancy Nancy is a huge series about a young fashionista. She is bold, vibrant, and nothings stops her. It is her sisters' birthday and she buys a present for her. She comes into conflict when she sees a beautiful laced fan that she really wants but she spent all her money on her sisters' present. She gets an idea to sell some of her stuff to pay for the fan. Many of her friends stop by and buy some of her stuff. Her sister thiough, doesn't want to sell some of the stuff because she wants it for herself. Before Nancy knows it, the money is piling up. The next day though, things are a bit more slow. Her sister tries to give her a penny for the necklace, but her sister tells her that it cost way more than that. She starts to have a fit and starts crying. Just then, someone comes and buys the necklace. Her sister is disappointed. Nancy doesn't want to make her sister upset by not giving her the necklace. So, she sets out to get it back. Her sister is overjoyed that she got the eye patch and the necklace. It begins to rain at the party and her sister is upset but Nancy has an idea to put on a fashion show. They all set out to get the clothes from her boutique. They all have a wonderful time and her sister is happy. Nancy always knew what to do, she never gave up. The illustrations were so detailed and colorful. I love this series. Fancy Nancy returns in this fifth picture-book devoted to her adventures, once again finding ways to make the world around her a bit more exciting and sparkly. Coveting a fan that is for sale at a local store, Nancy starts her own fashion boutique (AKA, lawn sale) in order to raise money to buy it. When she sells the rhinestone necklace that her younger sister has been wanting to a neighbor instead, she immediately regrets it, wishing she has saved it for JoJo's birthday present. Her actions in setting this right, and in saving JoJo's party when it starts to rain, lead not just to a happy sister, but to a happy ending for her as well... Like its predecessors, Fancy Nancy and the Fabulous Fashion Boutique pairs an engaging and ultimately heartwarming tale with cute and colorful artwork. Although this is the fifth title about Fancy Nancy, it is only the third I have read, and is my favorite in the series thus far. I appreciate the fact that Jane O'Connor's narratives always treat Nancy's desire for sparkle and fanciness with sympathy, but that she also depicts her main character's ability to put aside that desire, when a larger family issue arises. I also appreciate the artwork, with is sweet without being cloying. Recommended to all young fashionistas, and to anyone who has read and enjoyed other books about Fancy Nancy. nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
