Buffy Summers and her Slayer army have suffered heavy losses throughout Season 8 and faced scores of threats new and old, but the one mystery connecting it all has been the identity of the Big Bad-Twilight! In this penultimate volume of Season 8, New York Times best-selling novelist and comics writer Brad Meltzer (The Book of Lies, Identity Crisis) joins series artist Georges Jeanty in beginning the buildup to the season finale in the story line that finally reveals the identity of Twilight! In the aftermath of the battle with Twilight's army, Buffy has developed a host of new powers, but when will the other shoe drop, and will it be a cute shoe, or an ugly one? Still reeling from the losses of war, Willow goes looking for missing allies, and discovers a horrifying truth about several of the Slayer army's recent ordeals. Adding to the mayhem is the unexpected return of Angel, in his Season 8 debut! This volume also features two stories from series creator and executive producer Joss Whedon!… (altro)

Ok, so I already guessed the secret, and I'm not gonna give away any spoilers, but I do have to say one thing: OMFG this blew my f***ing mind.
This might as well be the grand climax of the entire series and it has cemented my undying love for it. I know there's more story before the end of the season, but holy hugalamunda I laughed and I cried as I read this. Talk about surprise upon surprise. Sure, all the super-powery stuff was fun, but to what ultimate end? I just couldn't believe it as I was reading it.

Romance fiction people, take note, you probably ought to review all your Buffy and Angel tv watching, get the hell caught up with season 8 here, and be prepared to read and weep. ( )

Watching dvds, reading comics on gadgets, going to order Omnibus 7...what can I say...drowning in Buffy and all because some T&E television start up station is running free to tempt me and is showing Buffy episodes and I am reminded that they we better than almost anything on television these days. Turbulence ~ Something weird happened to Buffy at the end of Episode 6 and she doesn’t have a clue what it means.

Buffy has uber-powers now, Riley is a double agent and the Xander/Dawn relationship is out in the open. Illustrations are decent, but sometimes they’re a tad too cartoony.

Twilight ~ Then Twilight shows up and it’s time for the big showdown.

Ok, I’m totally and completely confused. What in the fuck is this? I’ve read it twice and I still don’t get it. Ascending to a higher plane? This is so lame I really have no words. Plus, where did all his power come from?! There’s no ‘splainy! And can I just say that I am not a fan of Buffy and Angel? I much prefer a Spike and Buffy relationship. I’m voting for Angel to move on to someone else now. But that ending? Can I get an oh yeah, a yay and a what the hell?

Willow: Goddesses and Monsters ~ Takes place after Sunnydale is destroyed, but before Season 8 begins.

Willow goes on some kind of witchy power quest and meets up with some goddesses and monsters. I’m still not sure what’s going on, but I love the illustrations. ( )
