When I began reading it I did not think the meaning of the story would hit me as hard as it did! This is a story about Katie who was adopted when she was young. She knows she was adopted but asks many questions about if she was in her real mommy's belly and how she could be her adoptive parents real daughter. She wonders why her first mother did not want her and her parents explain that her mother was too young to take care of Katie, but she loved her very much. On a trip to the zoo, Katie wonders what would happen to a Koala if her mother did not want her anymore. In the gift shop, she sees a baby koala bear and she becomes the koala's adoptive parent. This is a completely different story then the other I read by London "Froggy gets dressed". After reading this book I am speechless. This book is a real-world topic that many children struggle with. Many either do not know they are adopted or they know and think their real parents did not love them. This is a wonderful book to read to students to let them know that being adopted is not bad. You are given a better life because your parents wanted you to have a better life out of love. Now I know not all adoption stories are this happy like Katie’s story but this one has a wonderful plot and ending. ( ) nessuna recensione | aggiungi una recensione
