The author of this book does a great job of keeping the stories short, yet making sure the reader is entertained and get the point of the lessons to be learned in each of the stories. I particularly like the story of Midas "The Golden Touch." I love the uses for this book in my class for writing prompts.

Though these are interesting myths from all over the world, I did not like how Hoffman did not include information about where the myths came from until the end of the book. I wish that she would have taken the time to give the reader background on the myth, where it came from, who are the characters and why the myth was told. ( )
