This one missed the mark for me. The bdsm element was weak. He was all 'I am so intense that I will scare her with the darkness of my desires', but in reality there was some spanking and it was all during sex play and some anal stuff. This was all written pretty much in a manner that made it seem very vanilla. The word choices the author used made it seem as if none of the things that the hero did to the heroine challenged her at all. He never pushed her into any sort of 'sub space.' In fact some of the things that he did were written as if they didn't hurt her at all but merely gave her a happy little buzz when I think that even at this vanilla level they would have hurt more than that. But she never even shed the smallest tear. The hero didn't want to hurt her at all either physically or mentally. So that was not very believable. And that was before she can slightly injured in a hit and run and then he wouldn't do anything but slow missionary position. She was just okay. I kept wincing when she talked during sex. Everything she said was either childish, stupid or just embarrassing. I might try one of the menage stories but I'm not sure that Desire Oklahoma is the place for me. ( )

This story has been a long time coming!! Such a steamy hot read!! I am so ready for more of this series!! Yummilicious!! ( )

LOVED Ace & Hope, will never be able to look at ginger the same again...will definitely blush next Thanksgiving when I am adding ginger to my pumpkin pies =)I loved the way Hope would frustrate him, by acting the opposite of what he thought she would, when he would try to push her away. I wish there would have been more of her intentionally pissing him off, sometimes she gave in to easy.Can't wait for the next story...The only thing I would like to see a little less of in the series is the anal sex obsession. I find myself rushing through the scenens after the 2nd time. ( )

There are days that I wish I had more time to read. Especially when I am reading a book as good as this one. I didn't want to put it down and damn if work and husbands didn't get in the way. LOL I think this is my favorite of this series. I loved Ace and Hope. She is such a fun loving brat and he is so very hot and dominate. I can't wait for the next book, hopefully we will find out who is causing all the trouble. I have a whole list of characters I want a story for. If you like Domination/submission that is a little on the darker side then this is the book for you.

I am glad that Ms. Brooke wrote a story for Ace so early in this series. Ace Tyler is one of those bigger than life men that so many of fall for and most of the time wait forever for them to get there story. These men are always the leader of the group the series is about. Some authors are smart and write a story for that hero early in the series while expectations aren't quite so high like Sophie Oak did with Stef Talbot and Christine Feehan with Mikhail Dubrinsky, Gregori Daratrazanoff and Lucian Daratrazanoff just to name a few. When we get so involved in these bigger than life characters and their story takes a long time to come about the reader is usually disappointed, let down. We have built the character up in our minds to such epic proportions that we the reader are disappointed. I can safely say that I wasn't disappointed in Ace’s story.

Hope Sanderson has been doing her level best to get Ace Tyler’s, sheriff of Desire, attention. She has loved Ace for years and done all she can to understand his dark desires. Desires that match her own. Some of the stuff she does is funny and some is bratty beyond description. Ace has convinced himself that Hope is too young and that she can’t possibly handle his need to dominate. Eventually Ace can’t stay away from her any longer and decides to make her run away when she finds out what he is going to want from her. He is in for a surprise when Hope takes all he dishes out and encourages him for more. There is also a vandal that is causing trouble in town and hurts Hope while doing it. This little mystery isn't solved in this story so hopefully it will be solved soon.

Ace has lived in Desire since he was a teenager. He loves the town and considers many of the residents good friends. He takes his responsibilities very seriously. He is very upset that several women have been hurt on his watch and the addition of a vandal that no one can seem to catch isn't helping. I don’t think Ace ever thought he would find someone to marry. He has loved Hope for some time but he never let himself imagine that they could have a relationship. Ace is a compassionate and caring man that sees himself as too rough and demanding. Don’t get me wrong he can be all those things but those things are all he is. Ace is also very dominant and love to play with Hope with more intense BDSM than some of the other men in this series.

Hope was born in Desire and raised there. She knows what goes on in town. She has made it her mission in life to learn everything she can about the relationships that make Desire so unique. Having come home after her younger sister graduates from college they start a woman’s club styled after Club Desire. For all their success Hope still hasn't won the heart of the man she has dreamed about for years. Hope is one of those people that are funny and loving most of the time. She is a positive and outgoing woman that cares about the people that she loves. She can also be a brat, so much so that I am sure her picture is next to the word in the dictionary. Hope is also doing some match making by trying to get her sister to notice Beau Parrish.

This isn't one of those great suspense romances. It is about two people finding their way to a happy ending. There are bumps along the way but they both seem to realize that they are meant to be together. This story isn't for the faint of heart though. There is more BDSM in this story than any of the others. The play that Ace and Hope engage in has bondage, pain, spanking, toys, and anal in many of the scenes. Ace pushes Hope farther than any of the other men have pushed their wives. There isn't any menage in this book. I will say that the BDSM scenes are hot as an erupting volcano. I continue to enjoy this series and look forward to each new book. ( )
