    fulner: Ready player one is what Snow crash should have been. A story focused primarily on the inter-personal-relationships of others "online" in a futuristic version of the internet in which we live in a 3-D world as the real world around us crashes and burns. letto nel 2022 - Romanzo fantascientifico dei primi anni 90, che vede la creazione di un mondo virtuale (Metaverso) non l'ho trovato scorrevole e forse visto il tempo passato, un pò scontato (ma non per l'epoca) ( )

L'inizio è veloce e promette bene, ma poi col passare del tempo mi inzia a suonare sensazionalista e modaiolo come gli articoli di Wired, E io detesto Wired, il "Donna moderna" della tecnologia.

Se ci aggiungi che è stato scritto quando sembrava che il Giappone doveva dominare il mondo e gli skater erano ancora un fenomeno subculturale abbastanza nuovo, suona anche vecchio e stantio.

Sarà stato anche una pietra miliare del cyberpunk, ma è invecchiato male. Non ce l'ho fatta a finirlo.

PS Ho scoperto poi che Stephenson è effettivamente stato un autore per "Wired" ( )

Hiro Protagonist (who has chosen his own name, of course) turns out to be entertaining company, and Mr. Stephenson turns out to be an engaging guide to an onrushing tomorrow that is as farcical as it is horrific.
