2nd & Charles Will Open New Store in Columbia

Shoppers Anticipate Opening of First Location in South Carolina
COLUMBIA, SC - June 11, 2013 - Columbia will soon have a 2nd & Charles store, occupying the former Books-A-Million location at 275-1 Harbison Blvd. The new location is set to open its doors in late June.
The Columbia 2nd & Charles will offer cash or store credit for gently used items that they buy and sell based on the product’s condition, current inventory and popularity.
2nd & Charles is focused on giving customers an amazing shopping experience. Individuals who love to read, listen to music, play games or enjoy movies will be thrilled by the variety the store has to offer. The store specializes in buying and selling used books, audio books, CDs, DVDs and Blu-Ray, video games, game systems, vinyl records, comic books, iPods and iPads, eReaders, and more.
“Those in the Columbia community who have never visited one of our stores are in for an adventure,” said Ellie Nagler, General Manager of Columbia’s new 2nd & Charles. “Merchandise purchased, although loved and used by someone previously, will be new items of interest for shoppers.”
Customers wishing to sell their own used items can check them in upon entering the store. While their merchandise is processed, customers can shop the more than three miles of shelf space in the store. Once their order is complete, customers can choose to redeem their items for cash or store credit.
Beyond the everyday low prices on its merchandise, 2nd & Charles also has sale bins where items will be priced at $1, $2 or $3. Customers will even find baskets where books are entirely free.
“We want shopping at 2nd & Charles to be an experience unlike any other,” says Eric Bishop, Vice President of 2nd & Charles. “When the residents of South Carolina get to see firsthand the variety of used items for sale, from video games and music to bestsellers and classics, it’s sure to become a destination for bargain hunters and collectors from all over the state.”
With over 300,000 items in store, 2nd & Charles’s inventory, which will be replenished daily, is constantly evolving with new bought back items.
"Shopping at our 2nd & Charles store can be compared to a personal treasure hunt," said Nagler. "Surprises can be found on every shelf because new and rare items are always appearing."
Before the newest arrivals are shelved, customers can browse the “Just Bought Back” carts for the hottest and most recently purchased items.
The Columbia store will be the first 2nd & Charles location in South Carolina and the 13th in the United States.
