Descrizione:: The Main Library was completed in 1966 on the site of the library's first Carnegie building (1904-1966). Located in downtown Kansas City, Kansas, the branch serves a diverse business community, local residents and students, and historians and genealogists. It has 45,000 square feet and houses 181,000+ items, including the Kansas and Connelley collections of local history. In September 2007, the library celebrated a grand reopening after an extensive remodel that more than tripled the Children's and Young Adult department, and created an expanded Audio-Visual department.
