- Yardley has a local bookstore to support community exploration, inspiration, and connection. Commonplace Reader is a safe space where people can meet to talk about books, ideas, and the countless things that matter to Yardley in an open and accepting atmosphere.
The meaning behind our logo has more to it than one would think. Franki, the mule, is bringing books to Yardley on a barge as an illustration of our history as a transportation hub, from the earliest Colonial days through the building of the canal in the 1800s, and major rail lines and truck traffic in the 1900s and into the 21st century where the Northeast corridor and Interstate 95 transport all kinds of goods, people, and materials.
