Unsolicited advice:
Probably better to post the full text of this message (which is self-promotion) in the Hobnob group, and if anything, just a cross-post without details in the Chicagoans group. Though even the cross-post could be against the TOS, best to read up on that.
The key issue for me is the wording (third-person): your post makes it sound as though dinga1949 and John McNamara are different people. Different personages, or personae, is quite possible, but the two are not different people -- it smacks of deception, willful or not.

No sweat! And I appreciate the apology, my sense is the confusion was unintentional but the site and LTers generally take spam seriously, so it's good to be transparent. That was a major impetus for creating the Hobnob group.
Good luck with the signing, as I mentioned in another thread, the book sounds interesting.

A bit of a trek from Chicago, just for the signing.
I must say, though, that I used to go to Champaign once or twice a year for professional meetings (since changed to Springfield), and would always stop in at Jane Addams. I'm glad to know that they are still around - always a worry with independent book shops these days.
