Oh the shock at first discovering Snape was a Death Eater!

From the end of the Third Task to the end of the book, I don't think I so much as breathed. Definitely one of the most spectacular portions of the series!

I loved "meeting" Voldemort. We don't really get to see much of him directly. Most of what we know of him is from others talking about him so I find that I love reading these parts that feature Voldemort himself.

How perfectly written is:
"And here we have six missing Death Eaters ... three dead in my service. One, too cowardly to return ... he will pay. One, who I believe has left me forever ... he will be killed, of course ... and one, who remains my most faithful servant, and who has already reentered my service."
I went over that a couple of times after finishing this book, book 5, and book 6 to make sure I knew which was which!

After reading book 6, I was rereading book 4 and chose to think of the last paragraph of chapter 33 as foreshadowing for book 7, which wasn't out yet.
Voldemort is speaking:
"And I am now going to prove my power by killing him, here and now, in front of you all, when there is no Dumbledore to help him, and no mother to die for him. I will give him his chance. He will be allowed to fight, and you will be left in no doubt which of us is the stronger."
After book 6, we know there is no more Dumbledore to help Harry. And since Harry escapes Voldemort in the graveyard, it gave me hope that Harry would survive book 7. I don't know if Rowling meant there to be any foreshadowing here, but I took it as such!

One of the things that helped keep me believing Snape was a good guy was that he appeared next to Dumbledore and McGonagall in the Foe-Glass.

One of my very favorite parts in all 7 books is Dumbledore asking Snape to return to Voldemort. I still get chills reading that part and imagining how Snape must have been feeling!

I love Harry's talk with Dumbledore. This is one of my favorite endings in all 7 books. I didn't like this book as much as others the first time I read it, but it grows on me more and more with each reread. It's close to the top of my favorites list by now!

Snape and the foe glass at first I thought it was because he was just a nosy git always being in on the aftermath, but now I think its because he knew that whatever comes he had to protect Harry

ETA: after all he appeared in the bathroom in book one and was it book six or seven he appeared to "rescue" Draco or was it really to make sure Harry was okay?

That's an interesting thought on the bathroom in book 6. We'll have to pay attention when we get to that book!

For the Foe-Glass, I just didn't think Snape could have been in it standing next to Dumbledore and McGonagall in particular unless he was on their side. The magic of the Foe-Glass would have left him out if he wasn't an enemy of fake Moody.
