I just joined myself as Scarlettwilight. What is everyones user names over on Ravelry?
I'm really new to the site and I'd absolutely LOVE to connect with you all over there! :)

I'm also using the same name on both sites.

YAY! I was getting worried... This group has been so quiet lately!
Do you all mind if I add you as friends over there on Ravelry? I'm really new to the site and I have some questions.
Also, do we have our own group on Ravelry? If not, we should start one!!! I will, if there isn't already one for us! :)
Much Bliss,
~Pandora~

I use the same name, seemed only logical and makes everything easier to remember.
Question for we who use both sites, do you put your library up on both. i can't be bothered, my rav library is what i put up when I first got on, that intial burst of energy but my LT library is a fairly accurate record of what I or have borrowed from my public library.
I like the sugestions from LT, finding similar libraries, it's just a better site for books.
And please rate and review the bad books, it is important to help all of us make good choices.

Interesting question Janientrelac - I do have a library of sorts on ravelry but it is limited to books about knitting etc. I find librarything much better in terms of "finding" the books I have, whereas Ravelry seems to be a bit slow in this regard. I would love to catalogue all my patterns on Ravelry but that seems to take a bit of effort. I wouldn't think of doing the same on Librarything but maybe I should. I will check out your catalogue Janientrelac and see if I can pick up some tips.

I am LizaM on ravelry (here I share a user name with my husband). I have my knitting books on Ravelry and here. It's pretty easy to update after you've added them to LT. Just download the excel spreadsheet of your books and use this to update on rav the instructions are given when you click on add a book:
You can also import from LibraryThing and Delicious Library. LT users - download the tab delimited data from http://www.librarything.com/export and upload it here.
You may notice that not all your knitting books will be added. This is because books have to be already in the rav database. If you are the first to add a particular book you have to ask for it to be added.

I'm freetibet on Ravelry. What a wonderful resource it's been for me to improve my knitting skills. Unfortunately, I keep getting distracted by drooling over other people's beautiful projects and don't work enough on mine. I've had to resort to audible books to listen while I knit or I'd never get any "reading" done.
11alexdaw
justicefortibet .....Love the beaded Mohair...isn't it amazing....never heard of it /seen it before...thanks for sharing on ravelry
12LeesyLou
I'm leesy on Ravelry (I'm leesy pretty much everywhere, but the name was already taken here on LT). I'm fairly active over there.
13Marensr
I'm Marensr on Ravelry as well but I have been bad about checking in or uploading pictures lately.
14Cancellato
I'm nohrt4me on Ravelry. I use it as a resource, but keeping up a home page of projects, yarn, notes, etc., strikes me as kind of a burden. I'd rather just be knitting and making notes in my little spiral notebook and on my patterns.
15overthemoon
I'm overthemoon on ravelry, but I haven't been in there for months, I keep forgetting about it (and haven't been knitting much)
16justicefortibet
Thanks - I just posted pictures of my sister-in-law wearing the finished jacket. I made it for her as a thank you for a fabulous 25th wedding anniversary party she had for my husband & me in April. Now my soon-to-be sister-in-law wants one for her wedding. She just has to decide on what color her dress will be, white, ivory, cream, so I can get started. It took me over 125 hours to do Patti's. I'm so pleased about all the raves it got when I gave it to her at the family reunion this weekend!
17justicefortibet
Hi Leesy, I think "fairly active on Ravelry" is a definite understatement. How do you get all that done???

I'm ddjyarnoholic on Ravelry. I just discovered this site today. And it has caused me to lose an entire day of knitting!! LOL. Oh well. Ravelry stole me away from reading so I guess it is payback time.

lizaandpaul Hello fellow Australian! My great-aunt used to live at Lake Macquarie I think. I have a few photos of her and my grandmother with Toronto written on the back. She used to own a bakery at Newcastle. Not sure what it was called but her maiden name was Forfar before she became Wingfield. I never really knew her unfortunately but she was much loved by my mother. Anyway - just thought I'd wave and say "Hi!".
20calotype
Hey, all. I'm franklin on Ravelry. Librarything is a more accurate record of my knitting library, since so much of what I own focuses on technique (as opposed to patterns) and so hasn't made it into the Ravelry database yet.
I'm puzzling what to do with that part of the collection right now, as it happens. What took up one shelf three years ago is now ready to overflow an entire case.

21PandorasRequiem
I only list my knitting books on Ravelry... If you take a glance at my LT library you'll see why, LOL. 2000+ books is a lot to upload to Ravely. Gives me a headache just thinking about it!
One thing I DO wish they had on Ravelry was a place to put your book reviews up. It would be really helpful to be able to just read knitter's reviews on the books they use there!

Hi alexdaw. I am not a native Lake Macquarian (?! Novocastrian s have their own word but we in Lake Macquarie are always overlooked), not Australian strictly speaking either (ten pound Pom like our PM). Toronto has a great yarn shop although I must admit to buying my yarn at Spotlight mostly (I cannot resist sales).
23justicefortibet
That jacket turned out so well - everyone loved it. In fact, my sister-in-law-to-be has asked me to make one for her to wear for the wedding reception. Since she hasn't chosen her gown color yet - white, cream, ivory - I'm glad that the wedding isn't until September 2011!
24nitnat
I am over on Ravelry and spend more time there than here now. (Blame LT...someone here told me about there!)
Knatty1 over there!
BTW: there is a green dragon forum there which started with some people from green dragon (duh), but more than happy for people to migrate there to chat about knittin'!

YES! Come join us over there!!! It's been kinda quiet lately. Me and Knatty need fresh blood. Hehe. Halloween joke. :P
27squaregrannie
I'm squaregrannie on Ravelry. I'm reading Frankenstein and the three The Friday Night Knitting Club books on 2 different book club groups on Ravelry. I'm also reading the China Bayles mysteries on my own.
28Chellieanne
Chellieanne on Ravelry-
I have found a new interest-knitting shawls-and listening to books on CD-

Oh no, that reminds me the Red Cross has been phoning, they want fresh blood too. What a great cover that would be for a bunch of vampires. "Donor Clinic Today! Your Blood Can Save Lives!" and they're all ripping open the bags and feasting in the back room.
Halloween is almost here - time to donate again!

LOL Muumi! That would be awesome. Like candy for Vampires. Hehe. :)

I am bus13knitter on Ravelry because I knit everyday on the #13 bus.
34theyarnstashattacked
I'm thestashattacked.
Similar name, but after someone outside of Rav thought it referred to drugs, I'm a little more careful to specify yarn now. ;)

I'm amigurumigrrl. I love to chat about knitting, books, art, etc.
41MeezieMom
Hi, folks I'm MeezieMom over on Ravelry, too. Can you figure what I mean by the name? ;-)
It's all Ravelry's fault that I'm here. I tried to add some of my books and magazines there, but couldn't. Then I saw that you could import from LT to Ravelry library. Hah! Only if they already have the book! I collect vintage knitting magazines. How many of the 1930s Minerva knitting magazines are on the Rav. library??? I haven't gotten to adding them here. Someday...

>41 MeezieMom:
You can—eventually—add your magazines and older books on Ravelry. Unfortunately it's a round-about method, that I always have to work out each time, and it starts with adding a pattern to your projects or queue. And they have this disclaimer: "Please - only contribute things that other people could use in their projects."
It was certainly easier to enter Stitches, Patterns and Projects for Crocheting here.

Hi
I'm Inkwool there too and just got to LT about a month ago - it's as addictive as Ravelry and I doubt I'll do much knitting for some time, what with entering my books and all that...

Welcome to LT Inkwool...may you have many happy years here and make lots of new friends :) I am bookluvvie on Ravelry and will say hi to you there too!
48MelissaJax
I'm MelissaJax on Ravelry, same as here. I don't get around much on Ravelry, mostly just my local forum and the sheep forums.
49MelissaJax
I do have my library on both. I started with the Ravelry library, now update both when I add a book. I wish Ravelry, LT, and PaperbackSwap were all fully integrated so I didn't have to maintain all three!.
51alexdaw
Hello Elizabeth and Melissa - I have befriended both of you on Ravelry....and am deeply envious of the pets :) Alex

>53 AnnaClaire: Where are the Ravelry "love" and "agree" buttons when you need them!?
55Marensr
I am bringing the ravelry thread back to life. I have been lurking there for some time under the same name I use on LT. My sister and I just opened a pattern shop for our patterns under artisan knits. I don't want to post a link because I don't want to spam, but if anyone is interested that is where we are posting patterns. If you have feedback or suggestions I'd love to hear them as we continue to edit and list patterns.
Are there any other designers lurking here who want to wave a hand and let us know who you are?

Hi Maren...that's good to know. I'll check it out. I was only on Ravelry yesterday. I'm not a designer, just a knitter but my friend Loani has a new free design out commissioned by the Australian Alpaca Association for a hat and scarf, currently on display at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney. Just a bit of fun. You might want to check out the link on my latest project. Photos on the link but not on my project page because I have literally just bought the wool. I love Easter time....lots of time to knit, read and clean up the house. Bliss. Loani also put me on to Windswept by Marie Wallin. Have you seen that? It's to die for, in my humble opinion.
57alexdaw
OK - I've checked out the website. Lovely stuff. Well done you two. I'm really liking the Wayfarer Cowl - is that your design?
58Marensr
Yes, the wayfarer cowl is my design! Thank you. It is funny my sister and I noticed we were getting lots of like from Australia and realized knitting seasons/ like the seasons are reversed. What lovely news for your friend Loani! I'll have to do some sleuthing and look for her and Windswept. I'll look for your finished projects as well.
I wish I'd documented every item I knit and gave away.

I love your Dr. Who police box! Oh of course Marie Wallin is a Rowan designer. I am a big fan of their designs. I loved Amy Butler too. Your friend's tea cosies are charming too. I think the one in your projects is my favorite it looks like a mushroom and a tam all in one!

I'm Shelbing on Rav. Did you know there's a Ravelry group here? It's gone dormant, but it could be woken up.

Recently more knitting than reading :-)
66LoriOnLTB
I just joined this group, and I'm the same on Ravelry: LoriOnLTB (which is Lori on Little Traverse Bay, MI).
67SF_fan_mae
Welcome Lori, I'm knittermae over on Ravelry. Is anyone else competing in the Ravellenic Games? I'm on Team Mysterious, with other Agatha Christie fans, and working on a vest for the SuperG(arment) event.
68deramores
hi there, just joined this group and new to this site. on ravelry - https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/deramores/patterns

Hi! I'm AstroGirlBunny on both LibraryThing and Ravelry! I've gone ahead and added a few of you as friends. But didn't add everyone because I just realized everyone may not want to?? lol. So please feel free to "Add" me as a friend on Ravelry if you like!
I knit and crochet but love knitting way more. It was only TODAY that I discovered, after five years, that LibraryThing has groups and, thus, only today I found out about this group! So great!
Thanks!

Hi Cindy, welcome. This group isn't very active, but there are a number of active book-related groups on Ravelry. I'm reading an Agatha Christie book every month with Delicious Death group of Christie fans on rav. We even try to coordinate a project with each book.
72krazy4katz
Hi!
I just joined Ravelry a couple months ago after starting to crochet for the Mother Bear Project (http://www.motherbearproject.org). My name there is KrazyForKatz because the one I use here was already taken. Odd because I searched their database and didn't find anyone with that name. They must have joined and left. I have to admit I never thought about reading knitting/crocheting books. Perhaps this will change open up a new category for me.

I am new to this group. My name on Ravelry is: lgrinzema. I love all things books, fiber, spinning, weaving, knitting, and other crafts.

>73 LGRinzema: Welcome! I have been on LT for years, but just joined this group recently. Oh! I see you have already found me there. :-)
