I just finished watching Slayers Revolution and Evolution-R. Now I am thinking of watching MAJOR 2nd. I like sports anime.

I've been working on Windy Tales, Shakugan no Shana, and Sora no Woto since January. I'm sooo slow at watching anything on my computer. It's just such a pain in the ass... but I like Funimation's On Demand channel: as long as I don't accidentally miss an episode, it's easier to watch the tv, like while I'm cooking or studying or something in the background. I've been watching Nana and Monster with that.

I usually buy my anime on DVD and I don't like watching it on computer unless I had to.

It has been a long time since I have seen Shakugan no Shana but I love it.

I don't have a DVD player on my tv, so I have to watch it on my computer. Also, I use Crunchyroll, which is computer only... (I also don't like the way subtitles are on standard dvds, with captions and subtitles and music lyrics all running together - I noticed it with the ARIA episodes, and it was kind of confusing. I wish there were a way to fix it without having to rely on fansubs. :/)

I'm honestly not liking Shana much at all. There are so many little things about it that irritate me, even though they're fairly standard for anime from around then. But one thing that makes me want to never touch the series again? the sound effects that Rie makes when eating that damned melon bread. Whenever I see the bread come out, I have to mute the volume, because it makes me feel sick.

(Actually, I'm not a big fan of the series at all, but I hate not finishing once I've started, and I'm halfway through...)

Well...I'm in the middle of Netflixing Darker Than Black and I'm re-watching Samurai Champloo with my cousin. I also have a TON of Sentai Filmworks shows that I'm wanting to watch/complete...but it's SO HARD to find the time to just sit and watch subs. ;_;

FWIW, Funimation has started airing Baccano! through Comcast's On Demand service (maybe other cable/satellite providers as well, I dunno) and it looks like they're restarting Honey & Clover, too (they just finished that on the premium side, the first two eps are free, at least).

I'm thinking of adding those two to my viewing rotation, but my mom's getting surgery done tomorrow and will be home for a few weeks, and I hate watching anime on the tv when she's recovering on the couch, because she has very little interest in it. Plus that's 4 series to keep up with, and I'm barely able to do Nana and Monster - though I might stop Nana, because it's moving kind of slowly (I'm on episode 9) and I made the mistake of reading the plot summary on wikipedia and TVTropes and don't really feel like I need to watch it anymore. (And Hachi's dub voice-actor grates my nerves a little bit. A lot of the American dubs do, though.)

Full Metal Panic and Prince of Tennis (which I thought I would hate but OMG I love it already)! I'm also watching FMA: Brotherhood and Fairy Tail every week. WOOT. I love it all! :D

Edit: WOOOAH. Right after posting this I started watching Yumeiro Patissiere. I've been seeing images from this anime forever but i didn't know what it was or care to find out. I just stumbled across it today and decided to watch it! What a cute shoujo! I love it! *squees*

FMP was pretty fun (although i haven't seen the season after Fumoffu!)... and PoT was a love it or hate it, it seems... on one hand, it's pretty much the endless battle (and, seriously, could you have any more tennis moves? and if middle schoolers are like this, imagine the pros! hahaha)... on the other hand, it can get really addictive.... their fillers with the chibified characters are also rather adorable... imo. ...and that's just the beginning of the PoT addiction....

I don't generally have much time to watch any anime. I'm currently watching a box set that my friend lent me (non anime) and once I'm done I'll continue to watch Naruto Shippuden (I'm only at episode 15). I found a good website recently that is very fast.

As much as I'd rather watch anime on DVD but it's very expensive so I'll watch stuff online too.

I borrowed Master Keaton from a friend and I'm currently watching that.

I tend to watch my anime on DVD but due to high cost (and to honest, mostly lack of time) I've been watching less and less of it :(

It is a an anime adaptation of a manga by Naoki Urasawa. It is about this detective Keaton. He is divorced and lives with his daughter. It is a great series.

I just finished watching Durarara and Baccano which were both pretty good. I am starting to watch Darker than Black because my friends say it was the best anime i hadn't seen yet.

I'm watching Princess Jellyfish (Kuragehime) and it's amazing. It streams on the Funimation site with subtitles the same day it first airs in Japan. (umee fansubs are also subbing it, if you don't mind that)

It's about a girl who is a bit shy and not very well socialized who is obsessed with jellyfish. She lives with a bunch of other women in a boarding house, and they're all otaku of some kind, and they all shun hipsters and men. And then one day Tsukimi comes across a super fashionable woman (complete with pink wig!) who helps her save a jellyfish in a fish/aquarium shop, and that fashionable woman ends up invading their lives (and turns out to be a cross-dresser). The story is slice-of-life and coming of age for both Tsukimi and Kuranosuke, I'd say.

The Wikipedia description:
Jellyfish otaku Tsukimi lives in a shared bath and toilet, women-only apartment, Amamizukan. Inhabitants include fujoshi, NEETs, and others who consider fashion their natural enemy, calling themselves "Amars". One day, Tsukimi meets a fashionable beauty who saves a jellyfish that is about to die. In reality, the "girl" is a cross-dressing man evading inheritance of his father's occupation.

Finished all 24 episodes of Kaze no Stigma in last weekend (Saturday night-Sunday morning). I saw the English dub at Netflix, found the entire thing generally satisfying as far as action/romance/comedy goes. Although the story left me puzzled in some places it I think about it too much.

/spoiler start/ ...Like how did he become the contractor? What compelled the wind gods to lend him their powers? Will he still continue getting "paid" to serve the family that threw him out? What brought him back to Japan? etc... etc.../spoiler end/

it's been a while since i've watched anything... since i've generally just given it up (except for maybe.. movies by studio ghibli or makoto shinkai)

but... a friend has now gotten me watching puella magi madoka magica... the magical girl show that breaks the rules of magical girl shows. depressing, and i might just get nightmares... but it's good. and i have to see it to the end....

27keristars
Mar 10, 2011, 7:47 pm

Haha, Madoka... I've been watching that one, too. It's a super deconstruction of the magical girl genre. Have you checked the TVTropes page for it? I did and learned that it has a lot more going on than I'd thought (I suck at noticing details in tv/cartoons).

Speaking of magical girl and deconstructions and not noticing things, I've been watching Star Driver and it's so confusing (but enjoyable), unless you're really good at picking out details and remembering everything.

Right now I'm watching Bleach, FMA (original), and shakugan no shana. Also I'm waiting for The world god only knows, it's supposed to come out in the US sometime this month.
I'm at 110 for Bleach, so I'm pausing it to watch FMA. I decided to skip the bount arc cause it was mostly filler.
As for manga, I'm reading Loveless and the world god only knows. And still waiting for chapter 31 of Dengeki Daisy. xD
Sorry that was a lot.

>31 olivia-love: Same with watching Bleach. I only watch Bleach on DVD though, so Im still only at the start of series four.

I do watch anime online, its just a bit irritating when you have to find all the different episodes and the different parts of the episodes. However, I watched Deathnote start to finnishe that way and I am currently in the middle of series two of spice and wolf. I absolutely love spice and wolf, but only in Japanese with english subs.

I took a week long break after finishing Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, which I'd never actually seen in its entirety, and am now watching the original version of the show. Its already feeling weird and I'm less than ten eps in.

34novelandmangacrazy
Lug 4, 2011, 7:56 am

I tend to read more manga then watch anime.

For Black Butler, how many episodes are there? Where can I watch it online? How many episodes cover 1 volume? I've only read volume 1 & 2, so I don't want to pass those2 volumes.

35keristars
Lug 4, 2011, 9:20 am

There are 36 eps of Black Butler (2 seasons - one 24 ep and one 12 ep), plus a DVD only episode. I don't know where you can watch it online - possibly the Funimation site? but I'd be careful with streaming sites that aren't Funimation, Viz, or CrunchyRoll.
