Book Groups

Looks like we have a lot of people who might live close to one another and so I thought I'd open up a topic for anyone interested in being in a book group. I'll do the same for writer's groups. Just respond with your name, location, a little bit about yourself, your loose schedule and reading taste. Maybe we'll be able to get some people together for a non-virtual continuation of LibraryThing.

I'm always up for a book group. Terri Loeffler; St. Charles MO; 50-something Information Systems Analyst/Physician Support Specialist plus Medical Coding instructor part-time; weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) are my free-est time schedules; and I'll read just about anything.

I'm usually reading thrillers or mysteries but enjoy some of the classics, too. Loved Jane Eyre. Taught elementary school so usually wanted to read things that took me out of my element and didn't make me think too much. Now that I'm retired and moved north from Illinois, I have more time for reading, but haven't gotten too far from the mystery/thriller genre. A book group with new recommendations would be worth it. Thank you for being an organizer. I live up in northern Wisconsin about 2 hours from Duluth and 3 from the Cities. We're also two hours north of EauClaire which is where we go for a Sam's Club run.

I'd love a book group. Anyone else in Chicago's northern burbs?

I'm pretty open about what I read. I like mysteries, YA, history, novels--I'm all over the map.

I am in the Western Burbs of Chicago but work in the NW burbs. I would be open to most genres.

Western suburbs of Milwaukee. I'm open to most genres except romances and "chick lit."

I'm on the west end of Kenosha, by I94 and I agree with jmeisen, message 6. My schedule is pretty open...
