Many don't know what they are, but they're very tasty (collard greens). It's the time of year to plant some young ones for your local garden store. I've decided to try growing them in pots this year. A couple of months ago, I planted okra in pots because I didn't want to go out and clean out my garden which had been overpowered by the runner grass. The plants yielded quite a bit of okra (I used seven pots, seven plants). Once we got the cold-spell, they stopped producing. It was easy to just dig out the plants and replace with the collard plants. I think I'm going to do this for a while. It is a lot easier than cleaning out a whole area. Try potting your veggies and see if you like it.

Their doing great especially since we've had some rain the past few days.

I'm somewhat jealous - no way could I plant anything yet, even in pots. Too much snow outside. In another month or so I'll start my tomatoes and stuff under lights in the basement.

I'll have to look into collard greens when I do my garden plan, though. They sound interesting.
