Happy new year, as they say.

Currently about half way through Undaunted Courage: Meriwether Lewis, Thomas Jefferson, and the Opening of the American West
by Stephen E. Ambrose. Started off a little too much in awe of Jefferson and Lewis, but after a couple of chapters it has turned into a pretty good read. And I am a bit surprised about how much I didn't know about the expedition, but then it has been about four decades since I last took a standard American history class. The day to day recounting of their journey hasn't been a tedious read at all. Ambrose does know how to tell a story very well.

Undaunted Courage: Meriwether Lewis, Thomas Jefferson, and the Opening of the American West is such a great book. Sounds like you're in the meat of the story. Ken Burns did a classic PBS documentary based on the book that was just superb. So, I just started reading The First Tycoon: The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt. Fascinating man the likes of who no longer exist in this country.

Loved Undaunted Courage from 2008. I am fixing to start Manhunt which I have had on my shelf for a little while now.
