PDF on Kindle

I just got an email from Amazon saying that a new Kindle update will be automatically downloaded to my Kindle. It will allow us to read PDF files, and rotate the screen between landscape and portrait. Sounds great.

But I went to the Amazon site and I read that this applies to the latest version of kindle. I recently bought a kindle as a gift for a friend; and his version of the K2 gets international whisper-jet functionality. My K2 doesn't get that. I'm wondering if by "latest version of Kindle" Amazon means all K2s, or just the ones that have the newer whisperjet functionality. Any ideas?

Mike, the update is for any K2 or DX.

However, if you've installed the font hack, best to wait while it's being rewritten, or you'll be back to the default font.

Thanks Aunt Marge. I looked into the instructions for downloading the new functions manually; and it said to press the "text" button located on the bottom line of the keyboard. I don't have a "text" button there, so I figured this was something new that came with the K2.3. I'll just wait a few weeks and see what happens.
