Here's a message I posted the the GLCC board about our LT progress. Many, but not all, of our dups are listed here. If you are looking for something let me know. We have over 50 boxes full of dups. I'm happy to give them away (you pay shipping) so ask for what you want. If I get enough vols we'll eventually create a special collection of dups.

We had a great day with the volunteers at the Library today. In all over 1,000 new titles were added to LibraryThing. We now have over 4,200 items cataloged on LT, As far as I can tell everything on the old GLCC library database is now on LT.

I especially want to thank the Americorp volunteers. Without them we wouldn't be close to where we are.

The volunteers also went through 20+ boxes of donated materials. They were able to sort out duplicates in those boxes allowing us to figure out what we need to add to the permanent collection and which items are duplicates that we already own.

We now have about 24 shelves (1,200or so items) full of new books that need to be processed (property stamped, labeled, put in the circ data base, etc) and shelved in the main collection.

One more day with the a bunch of volunteers will clear out the stack of boxes under the steps.

Thanks to all who helped today. Your help was invaluable.

Getting all this stuff into LT proves that we have the largest GLBT library between Philadelphia and Chicago. We have the 3rd or 4th largest between New York and Minneapolis and probably one of the 5th or 6th largest in the US. By the time we are done we'll definitely be in the top 5 in the US. We're going to be a major GLBT research center in the country.
