ICOLC is the International Coalition of Library Consortia. I'm leaving tomorrow for the meeting in Paris. (Great perk of my real job). This LT group constitutes a library consortium and I hope that we can share info, ideas and eventually materials via ILL.
I've been analyzing our collection and finding that much of it pretty rare. At a meeting earlier this week I got Penn State University interested in (willing to talk about) digitizing our rare stuff as part of their Google Books Project. This would help preserve the GLBT literature in perpetuity.
I think that many of you have unique and rare items as well. Once I'm finished with our analysis I'm going to tackle some of your libraries. Let me know if you are interested in this and I'll give you more details about what and how I'm doing this.

My job sends me to places like Springfield, Illinois. Color me green.

I hear you. You don't know how many trips I make between Pittsburgh and Harrisburg. It's usually a trip that involves 7 hours of driving for a 3 hour meeting.
Au revoir,

I haven’t spent much time on LT or other library functions lately because of too much going on so I’m reading this several weeks after it was posted but it sounds very exciting.
We are still working on getting our library going so I can’t say we’ve done much analysis but the head of CT TransAdvocacy Coalition was telling me recently that she has several rare volumes in her collection that she wants to make available to the library and the idea of digitizing them came up. So keep us in mind.
