Is there a list somewhere for this series? I've started compiling the series, but the books I have are not numbered. They are not all published in the same year; the ones I have are from the 1960s.

There might be a list if you mention where they are published (UK, USA, Australia, non-English speaking country) and by which publisher...

Profile -> Statistics/Memes -> Series (in the list down the left-hand side) and then scroll down to Art of the World. Clicking on the 'Art of the World' link will get you to the series page. They don't appear to be numbered.

OK, "Art of the World: The historical, sociological and religious backgrounds", is originally published in Germany (Holle Verlag G. M. B. H., Baden-Baden, Germany). The English editions are by Greystone Press, New York.

The link to the series page in # 3, above, is to books I listed there, so that's not much help to me, unfortunately.

Nice picture vpfluke. It's hard to say if the 18 books pictured by the bookseller are the entire series or not, though. I have 16. What I could do is number the ones I have according to their date published.

I still hope someone can find a complete list of them and their order.

I think this is a complicated subject. Here is the link to the Series as recorded in LT: http://www.librarything.com/series/Art+of+the+World .

On the right side of the page are references to other versions of the series, at least one looks German, and another Dutch. I wonder if some works did not get translated from the original German.

I have a list of about fifty now. I'm going to check with Greystone and see if they will provide a complete list.
